Introduction to Knitting

This course is going to teach you to knit – by making a hat. A nice woolly hat, knit in the round, to keep you warm this coming year. The tutorials are primarily aimed at those who are new to knitting – we’ll be covering all the basics, like how to cast on, how to make knit and purl stitches, how to knit in the round, how to decrease your stitches at the top of the hat, how to finish your hat. I’ll also talk about the different materials you might encounter while knitting, and some information on how to read patterns (and where to get them).
